The Eighty's and Ninety's have given us
some wonderful Hi Tec Sports and on Phuket we have our fair share of them. Bungy Jumping
is the most prominent one but this is closely followed by Para Gliding.
Para Gliding is a thrilling adventure sport which costs little
money and can give you an adrenalin rush..
For those of you who don't know the following paragraphs will give
you a brief explanation on how it works. It is really quite easy an very safe. |

The Beach Operators will strap you into a
parachute harness that enables you to hang under the glider. The Glider which is
basically a parachute is trailed behind you and attatched to the harness. The next step is
to attach your harness to the rope that is connected to the speedboat.
When everything is double checked and secure the operators will
open the glider up and the boat will take off. After jogging down the beach for
about 20 meters the sail will fill and you will be gently lifted of the ground as the boat
gathers speed. |

Your circuit will include one complete
rotation of Patong Beach where you will be flying at a height of approximately 40
meters. When the circuit is complete the boat will slow and the chasracterisitcs of the
parachute will take over as you slowly desend to the ground.
