Are snakes evil carriers of death or are they slightly misunderstood through history? No
matter how you feel about these animals, you shouldn't miss this opportunity to acquire
some knowledge about them.
In case you didn't know, there are snakes in Thailand. Usually you will
not come across one but at the Phuket Snake Farm you can see them all. The Snake Farm is
located near the Phuket Palace Hotel, at the corner of Nanai and the road to Karon. Any
tuk tuk driver or motorbike taxi will know where it is.
Cobras are quite common on Phuket and
therefor they play a central part in the show. The cobra is also among the most well known
snakes. You will get the opportunity to touch the snakes and also feel the squeeze of a
python. They have one python that is over six meters long and a python that big can
swallow a human being.
To see the snake handler kiss a cobra on the
head will take your breath away for sure. It's a dangerous business but he knows what he's
doing. Kissing the jumping snake is a different story altogether. But he does it...
The entrance fee is 200 Bath. You will be able to walk around the area and see all the
snakes, get a short lecture about handling snakes and what to do in case of a snake bite
and of course see the show itself. The show is about 30 minutes long and very
entertaining. The staff is very friendly and they speak very good English.
