All the bikes you want

Power in detail. picture by trv.netAre you a Harley Davidson fan? Do you like cruising on big, heavy choppers? Are you into fast and funky street racers with rocket-like revolutions? Or do you fancy cross-country bikes with Arnold Schwarzenegger suspensions? Guess what: on Phuket you can have them all!

Power in detail. picture by trv.netFor those who like the wind in their face, the sun shining on God's
bright heaven above and the long and winding road stretching for miles, twisting through mountainous jungles, Phuket IS Nirvana. Phukets multifaceted landscapes give you the opportunity to try out and examine every kind of bike, every kind of driving style.

All the girls you want

Manfred on his custom built Virago. picture by trv.netImagine yourself on your favorite bike, riding up those lush hills. A pretty little brown-skinned girl with her long, black hair fluttering in the wind embraces you from behind. You feel her body leaning on yours. Instinctively you pat her sleek leg with your left hand to assure her it is allright. We're gonna have a nice day!

You have met her the night before on one of Patong's innummerable bars. She looked good in the neon-light with her red lips, tight dress and high heels. And she looks good now in the sunshine, on the bike. She knows what it is all about. She knows you have chosen her for her Asian beauty. She doesn't ask any questions. And she knows that tomorrow you might choose another girl. She is like you: happy on Phuket, living one day at a time!

All the power you want

Take the southern road from Patong to Rawaii or the Northern stretch from Patong to Surin. A series of rolling hills and swinging curves. Lush, green jungle interspersed with rubber plantations on one hand. The deep-set blue Andaman Sea with its blinking, white beaches on the other.

The style of my bike is inspired by the army, says this bike-seller on Patong beach. picture by trv.netThese beautiful lanes are made for heavy choppers. Growling withpower, you take on any mountain, any steep hill. Charging into lower gear, the big V-2 engine emits throatier sounds. For one short moment you let her have it. You crank the throttle. The bike leaps forward. The G-force strains your arms. THIS is power. THIS is the moment of truth. You feel the heat rise inside your guts. Is there anything like this in the whole world?

Manfred from Germany has had a motorbike accident on Ko Samui. Now he is abiding his time for recovering on his custom built Virago 750 with a stylish 30's look. His girlfriend of the day is lovely Gop. Her name means "frog". Which makes one wonder - if all Thailand's frogs were as beautiful as her, one certainly wouldn't mind kissing them all!

Yours for the taking!

Helena likes big bikes. As long as she is the one to sit in front. -My boyfriend can take the backseat, she says. picture by trv.netThe license plate on this Yamaha identifies it as a Swiss bike. One wonders if its owner has taken the ride from Zurich to Phuket all the way on his own. picture by trv.net

Phuket has literately taken up the art of biking. Artist Amon from Bangla Rd. Patong and one of his paintings. picture by trv.net.

For motorcycle enthusiasts there is nothing like a ride on their dreambike. For many of the dreamers a pretty girl tops the picture. Few places in the world come as close to that dream as the island of Phuket. Big bikes, custom bikes, racing bikes on a beautiful island with good weather and any street/landscape condition you want. From smooth asphalt to rough jungles, the world of love and biking is yours for the take.
