Ao Chalong...this is were many adventures take there beginning. Imagine yourself standing there with your backpack full of things you probably will not need, moments before you leap into a speed boat (or a long tail boat, depending on your financial status...). It's very easy to find transportation to the extraordinary islands that surround Phuket from Ao Chalong. Phi Phi Islands, Bamboo Island, Coral Island...you name it. All these tropical paradises are reachable from here. And then there's all the divers. Many of the dive companies choose to depart from Ao Chalong since it has a very strategic position. From here it's also very near to the Sea Gypsy village.

"Many of the farangs who have businesses in Phuket choose to stay in Chalong. Not very far from Kata, Karon Phuket and Patong but a lot more peaceful" Koy mentions.
