Kamala

"The way to go is a big, comfortable chopper like the Shadow".
There
is a place in Kamala that few know of. Those who do know probably don't care much about
it. Instead of going down to the very nice beach in slow paced Kamala, we go to the mast. "There's
not much to see around here but I like it anyway" says Koy. "It's very
calm and quiet, unlike Patong for instance. If it wasn't for the trees you would have an
unobstructed view over Kamala and it's surroundings" What the mast itself is for
is of little or no interest but the place itself is a bit intriguing. Of course, you need
a bike or a car to get up the hill. A walk is not something you would want to put yourself
through. The way to go is a big, comfortable chopper like the Honda Shadow.
If
you want to visit Kamala (and by all means, you should), there's a lot more than this to
see. You have a couple of buffaloes, a very nice and clean beach and it's not as crowded
as the beaches further down south. There are some excellent restaurants and there are a
few dive companies operating from here. It's a nice mixture of luxury and budget
accomodations and you will find something that you like or sure. Kamala does not really
offer an extravagant night-life though. On the other hand, Patong is not that far away if
the party animal inside you should wake up. "I hope Kamala stays just the way it
is" says Koy. "It's a real treat to come here every once in a while
just to clear my head".
Next week Koy
takes you to Kalim. You really should catch this one. This a place that virtually everyone
passes by without giving it another thought. Well, think again. Koy shows you where to
stop for a second and enjoy the view. Catch the story next week!
