Promthep Wind Power Station © Travelers' Net "Not everybody knows that a trip to the power station on Promthep is a given if you're interested in a great view"
"I think people who live on Phuket forget that they live in a tropical paradise" she says. "There's always new things to discover and once you've found a special place you'll keep coming back for more".
Once you reach Promthep you'll be stunned by the view and if you have a camera it will certainly come to good use. We were being cooked by the intensive sun out there on the cape but the dark clouds were not that far away... "There's a cat living here" Koy says. "It's been staying here a long time and it feels good to see her every time I come back." Sure thing, the cat comes up to us before we even have time to kill the engine. "Sometimes I bring some food for her. She always looks so hungry" says Koy.
"I really love this place" says Koy. "Especially now during the low season when I can have it all to myself" The very moment she says those words, a van from the Meridien Hotel rolls in and the illusion is over. But she'll be back again to take in the scenery, relax and do some thinking. And to see the cat of course... There's a time and a place for everything and we decided to move on to other destinations around Phuket. You'll be able to read about those places the following weeks in the "Goin' Places" section of the Phuket Daily Life. Next week Koy will take us to a real classic. The viewpoint from which you have a magnificent view over Kata Beach, Karon Beach and Patong Beach.
